Our apartment is in the centre of Amsterdam on the South part of the canals near the 'Spiegelgracht' where all the art galleries are. The apartment also features a large open plan kitchen/lounge area with lovely fireplace.
Initially, after reading the reviews we had decided to try and move both of them to another facility. We arrived late Saturday evening (Oct. 8)) and did not smell any odors and it was very clean. We were there daily for 4 days, visiting not just one family member but two.
Was even told by the female Physician Assistant, there is nothing wrong and that I was not the only patient they were caring for. Finally, after constant suffering and complaining, I was taken to the hospital to find I had blood clots in my lungs. Had it not been for my sister listening to me, I could have died. There are no words to describe how poor the care is and how much a select few try to convince one they are trying to turn it around. If you care about your loved one, DO NOT admit them to Pheasant Ridge....they may not be as lucky as I was. The on staff nurses were more interested in having their smoke break than caring for the patients.

Those who are better off cannot sleep because they are awakened several times a night. The food is a stereotype of the worst imaginable prison food. When my father died, they packaed up all his stuff and put it in the hall before we could even go through it-- they wanted to rush another person into his room (this is a for-profit facility). My father was totally lucid and tortured by this experience. That does not make up for other pile of bull.
It's a sad day in this field when the CNA's take better care and have more compassion than those who supposedly have more education. Again, it you care....do not let them care for your loved ones. I was disappointed with Pheasant Ridge because I heard a lot of good stuff about it before. I don't think they have to be blamed at all because my mom was a little combative after her hip surgery. I was more disappointed in their physical therapy more than anything because they really didn't seem to help her a lot.
